Q&A

At the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference, more than 95 countries issued a joint declaration called the “Nice Wake-Up Call”, urging the creation of a strong, legally binding global treaty to stop the escalating crisis of plastic pollution.

Plastic cup lids are one of the most common sources of plastic waste in daily life. To reduce plastic consumption, the industry has started using plant-fiber materials for cup lids. These lids are biodegradable, durable, and fully capable of replacing traditional plastic lids.

Plastic pollution is no longer limited to “trash floating on the ocean surface.” Much smaller and nearly impossible to detect, microplastics are rapidly infiltrating the world’s oceans. Recent reports show that microplastics have been found in at least 23 major marine ecosystems, reaching deep-sea environments and even remote islands.

With rising global environmental awareness and increasingly strict regulations, plant fiber packaging has become the ideal alternative to traditional plastic. It not only solves the problem of non-degradable plastic waste but also demonstrates outstanding potential in food safety and resource utilization.
